Jakarta : Food Tasting : Latteria

New Gelato-spot in PIK !




Couple weeks ago I've attended the opening of this new gelato place in Pantai Indah Kapuk or we also called it PIK. PIK area has known to be the place for eateries, and of course the stakes are high. Aside from many of coffee shops popping up around Jakarta, Gelato or Ice Cream place also doing the same. 



People here in Jakarta always love to adopt the trend from outside of the country. Australia, Japan, Singapore, Korea, America, you named it ! And yes, this place is also one of them. Latteria adopting from the famous gelato Messina from Sydney, and I can tell how passionate the owner himself on creating those unique combinations of flavor.

The moment you see their gelatos displaying, major drool ! I had a hard time on choosing the flavors, because all was looked so good ! So me and my foodies-friend decided to order some flavors per person so we got a chance to taste all. Lolssss!



So here are some of their flavors that we got to try :
- Jack and Rose ( Pistachio and Rose )
- S & S ( Salted Caramel & White Chocolate )
- Velvet Meringue ( Meringue and Red Velvet Cake )
- Perfect Match ( Chamomile and Cherry )
- Dragon Fruit Sorbet
- Not So Complicated ( Popcorn and Peanut Butter )
- Coffee Break ( Caramel, Coffee, Cashew )

I have to say in terms of texture, Latteria had a really smooth and creamy textures. It's not that 'chewy' or gooey that I usually looked for a gelato, but I'm satisfied enough. In terms of flavors, some flavors are nice, but some flavors I found it hard to identify. Some of my favorite are Jack and Rose, S & S and Not So Complicated. I simply love Pistachio Gelato that's why I like it so much.

Besides the gelato, they also had this Baked Alaska. A chocolate and cherry gelato with Meringue outer. It was nice in flavor but a bit too sweet for me.
