Surabaya : Artotel

Staying at this artistic hotel ? Why not ?!

My first post in Surabaya  is got to be this hotel that I'm staying at, Artotel ! Artotel already well known in Jakarta, because of it's urban and artistic design. I haven't been staying at the one in Jakarta, but when I got a chance to visit Surabaya, I said to myself, why not? 

Artotel Surabaya located at the center of the city, which is a good thing ! You can find many good restaurant nearby, and it was located on the main road. Taxi-ride to and from the hotel and airport, just cost me around IDR 100.000,-.

That time I'm just by myself, so I just booked a Studio room for around IDR 500.000,-/night, not bad right! So here is the look of my room.

Every room in Artotel are having a different mural design. All was made by Indonesian Local Artists ! That time my room was design by Hendra Harsono. I love his artwork ! It's just cute, playful  and whimsical !

Even though the window-view was lame, but with the price, I can't complain much. The bedding was comfy with King Koil's bed, nice air-con and cable TV service. One of the downside of this hotel is they don't have any swimming pool or gym.

Isn't that true !!

Artotel also have space for artists to showcase their artwork. I think this concept is really cool and definitely supporting the local artists.

For breakfast, they serve it in their restaurant RoCa. The buffet-style breakfast was served with Indonesian dishes. Even though it's not too extensive, but it's decent enough.

I've tried their Kemangi Fried Rice, Soto Ayam and also Omelette, all was nice.

 
So overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this hotel. Warm and helpful hospitality, perfect location and worth the price. If you're an artsy person, you definitely have to tried this hotel ;)
