Travel : Pink Beach in Lombok

Pink Beach in Indonesia is not only in Komodo Island, Lombok has it too !
 


One of my bucket list in life is visiting pinky sandy beach wherever that is. From Pinterest, I know there's several Pink Beach in this whole wide world. Bahamas, Bermuda, you named it. But thank God, I live in Indonesia with it's majestic and diverse scenery, so yes... we have not one, but TWO pink beach ( or more? ) in this country !

When I got a chance to visit Lombok two weeks ago, I remember that they have this kind of beach here. After we've done attending the event, me and my buddies decided to extend our stay, and visiting this beach. After googling around, I think there's no updated articles or info about this, so that's why, I decided to do this post. Or maybe.... you could get 'inspired' after reading this :p 

How To Get There ?
Pink Beach or the locals named it Tangsi Beach is a beach located on Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. From Mataram, it will took 2 - 2.5hours drive. Not many tour or local guide that wants to drive you here. Because..... There's no water sports/ attractions there ( so they couldn't get any incentive ), and second, they think the road was so bad for cars. 
But here, I give you proof that you could showed to them. The road condition now ( June 2015 ) is FINE for cars. Seems the government ( or locals ) already fixed the road, so it's not as bad as it used to be.

So Is It Really Pink ?
After we arrive, we was quite surprise, 'it's not pink!!', that's what we said. Haha... Yes at first you sees it, it's just looks like an usual white sandy beach. But after you look closer, it is pink ! It's not the pinky-pink, but it's more to peachy-pink in color. The sand was very refined and smooth. The pink color comes from a coral particles. What I love from Pink Beach is how clear the water was !

 A Place to Stay?
There's no accommodation around Pink Beach. The closest one is this exclusive resort, Jeeva Beloam. 

What To Do in Pink Beach?
In pink beach, there's not many options of water sports. You can do some snorkeling or diving or islands hopping ( around IDR 500.000-800.000 ), but nothing else. But since the water is very pristine clear here, I bet you can't resist yourself to dip in the water don't you! But yeah... there's no proper wash room/toilet here. No clean water. So you have to consider that. 

 So.... since there's no other thing, why not took couple ( or more ) selfies or photo-hunting? In Pink Beach, you should go up to the cliff. And yes, the view is amazingggg ! I'm so overwhelmed with the gradation color of the sea, the breeze wind and the calming remote atmosphere.

Highly suggested to bring your own food and drinks, but yeah, there's some street food stalls here. Fresh coconut water ( IDR 10.000 ) would never go wrong. 

Near Pink Beach, there's a Japanese cave and cannon that you can visit. We didn't make it to the cave, since the road was quite challenging and we have to go early. But on the way to the cave, the view is breathtaking as well!

 So.... is it worth the trip? Of course yes ! Pink Beach or Tangsi Beach is a must-visit when you in Lombok, even though it's a bit remote. But isn't that the beauty of it? I do like beaches or places that wasn't too crowded or busy, so I could feel like I have the place on my own :p How about you?
