London : Timberyard

Back to my coffee journey in London, I know this coffee shop from instagram before, and since I also seen them in 'The London Coffee Guide 2014' Book, I'm curious about this place. That day, the area of St Martin was having a Spring festival, held by Seven Dials. It was fun though! There's many freebies, mini park, and fun food truck around ! But yes, the whole road was packed !

 

No exception to this place. Timberyard was actually quite spacious, but it's just packed with people that day. And yes, because of that too, their La Marzocco FB/80 was ... overworked? Timberyard using Has Bean Jabberwocky Blend for their espresso. Besides Square Miles, Has Bean also a well known coffee roaster here in the UK. But too bad I didn't get a chance to try their espresso that day.

So yeah, the barista offer me the Chemex - £2.20. I'm not really sure about the beans that they use. Because the queue behind me was quite long and I didn't get a chance to talk with the barista. But I'm pretty sure that they use beans from India ? Well.. I'm quite surprised as well since I never had coffee from India before. But yes.. my filtered coffee turns out really good! It was light, fruity ( mango ? ) and clean aftertaste. Perfect afternoon coffee !

 

They also had extensive baked goods here. I opted for the Coconut Zucchini Loaf - £ 3.00. It was crumbly, moist and full of coconuts! Love it !
