Nottingham : The Pudding Pantry
Through a friend of mine, I make a new friend here in Nottingham ! He was so kind, definitely a foodie, and when we're looking for a place to have brunch, a friend of him recommend to try this new place in Notts !
I fell in love with this place at the first sight. They used my fave color ( mint color! ) throughout the space, and I love their simple, clean design.
They said that they were an artisan coffee shop, so I definitely trying some of their coffee. I opted for some Latte, and they were good ! The coffee has a good body in it. I'm quite surprised though since Nottingham wasn't a big city, but it's good to found a good quality of coffee here besides the chains.
My friend ordered Chai Latte, and he said it was good as well.
They don't have extensive savory menu here, but they serve many kinds of desserts. I opted for some Goats Cheese and Caramelised Onions Quiche - £5.95. It was quite nice with pungent cheese taste, and I'm kind of like how they use the purple cabbage for the coleslaw. Pleasing the eye !
A friend of mine opted for Pulled Pork Sandwich - £4.95. This one was quite delish too. The pulled pork was tender and savory, and a layer of coleslaw gives a nice crunch to it. Nice !
For dessert, we tried one that really catch our attention, Bacon Brownies - £ 2.95. Yes, Baconnnnn ! Lols. But too bad though, this one a bit failed. The texture was so dry and tough. There's no flavor of the bacon, even the chocolate.

London : Timberyard
Back to my coffee journey in London, I know this coffee shop from instagram before, and since I also seen them in 'The London Coffee Guide 2014' Book, I'm curious about this place. That day, the area of St Martin was having a Spring festival, held by Seven Dials. It was fun though! There's many freebies, mini park, and fun food truck around ! But yes, the whole road was packed !
No exception to this place. Timberyard was actually quite spacious, but it's just packed with people that day. And yes, because of that too, their La Marzocco FB/80 was ... overworked? Timberyard using Has Bean Jabberwocky Blend for their espresso. Besides Square Miles, Has Bean also a well known coffee roaster here in the UK. But too bad I didn't get a chance to try their espresso that day.
So yeah, the barista offer me the Chemex - £2.20. I'm not really sure about the beans that they use. Because the queue behind me was quite long and I didn't get a chance to talk with the barista. But I'm pretty sure that they use beans from India ? Well.. I'm quite surprised as well since I never had coffee from India before. But yes.. my filtered coffee turns out really good! It was light, fruity ( mango ? ) and clean aftertaste. Perfect afternoon coffee !
They also had extensive baked goods here. I opted for the Coconut Zucchini Loaf - £ 3.00. It was crumbly, moist and full of coconuts! Love it !

London : Prufrock Coffee
After finally I got my own time to explores London by myself, specialty coffee is on the top of my list. I know, I know... Maybe some of you already notice that this blog doing more and more coffee reviews. I just love coffee and this world of specialty coffees are get me hooked !
Ok, so of course, when I travel, I always ask my friends or through my Instagram about the local guides. And when I ask about which specialty coffee that are the best in London ? Prufrock is their answer. So yes, I take my 'oyster card' with me, and head off to Holborn.
Prufrock is located in Leather Lane, which a street block with many street food during the day. I was tempted to try one, but I guess I prefer to have my brunch at the coffee shop. So here I am!
Prufrock was spacious, but this coffee shop is pretty busy ! The bar quite huge, and the rest of the interior was pretty casual and inviting. I've heard that Prufrock was owned by WBC champion, and you can expect a well trained baristas here. Oh.. they also had Barista's classes too.
Prufrock using beans from Square Mile Coffee Roasters, which you know, it's a well known roaster here in London and you can find it everywhere. And oh, it's owned by WBC champion as well. That day I'm trying the Espresso from Red Brick - £2.20. It was a seasonal blend of 60% Colombia La Serrania and 40 % Brazil Santa Ana. Well too bad my espresso didn't comes out perfectly. Since you can see from the photo and you can look closely at the crema. There's unpleasant taste on my mouth but I still can taste the fruitiness. When I talk to the barista, they said maybe because they was pretty busy before, the machine doesn't work properly. Oh well.
Next coffee I opted for 4oz using Sweetshop Blend - £2.60. This blend is still from Square Mile and it was a blend of 60% Ayichesh 40% Reko. I kinda love this one. More balance, sweet and slight fruity.
For something to fill up my tummy, I opted for Leek and Cheese Tart with Seasonal Salad -
£6.50. It was pretty enjoyable, and you can taste the strong salty flavor of the cheese.
