Krispy Kreme Bloggers Gathering
A couple weeks ago, me and several bloggers been invited by Krispy Kreme Indonesia to experienced the newly open Doughnut Cafe concept in Central Park Mall and of course their new creation to welcome the holiday season. Krispy Kreme already known worldwide with their signature Original Glazed Doughnut and so on. And this is the first time in Indonesia they open a store with a Doughnut Cafe Concept.
Doughnut Cafe itself means a new atmosphere, new vibe, with a new interior design that makes you feel comfortable and cozy to sit around and forgetting time ( and forgetting diet too? haha ;p ). There's an indoor also outdoor sitting are that you can choose. Nice !
First we get there, we've been introduced to the "Doughnut Theater" area, which is the place where we can see the making of the doughnut itself. It's so fun looking at those babies jiggling around the oil and showered with the glazed sugar. And you know what's the best part is ? You can just eat it right away ! Fresh from the oven!
We're also introduced to a new baked creations which is "Pull Apart". Pull apart is an original Krispy Kreme dough that is rolled and pulled over to get a bread-like textured. It has 4 kinds of taste which is Double Cheese, Smoked Beef and Cheese, Pepperoni & Cheese, Sausage Cheese. I agree the textured was sooooooo soft and smooth. But I will personally more like it if I can taste the cheese more.
Another baked creations is "Kruffin". Kruffin is actually a muffin, but they put a hole in the middle and fill it with the ingredients. There's a 4 variations of taste which is Triple Chocolate, Chocolate Banana, Blueberry and Apple Streusel. I'm a big muffin fan. So I kinda' like this. But what I like the most is the Apple Streusel. I love the streusel on top, it gaves a nice textures, and I also love the apple bits in the middle of it.
Because it's near the Holiday Season, they're also launch the holiday products which is Snowman Doughnut and Snowflake Doughnut. The Snowman Doughnut has 2 flavors. The one with the green scarf has a blueberry fillings, the one with the red scarf has a chocolate filling. The Snowflake doughnut has a custard filling with premium chocolate as a topping. So cute.
Also not to be missed is their coffee beverages. Mocha Marshmallow and Cafe Latte. I love the Mocha Marshmallow ! It's so creamy and yum.
Besides that, we also get a chance to make our own doughnut. I had fun decorating it, and this is the result. What do you think guys? Am I good enough to be a doughnut decorator? ;p
Before we got home, we also got some goodie bags and some doughnuts. Yay !
Last words, Thanks to Enny Gunation from Krispy Kreme, and also Krispy Kreme Indonesia for inviting. Cheers !

Food/Rest. Review : The Baked Goods
There's a new recently open dessert place in town. It is said the celebrity Erwin Parengkuan and his wife Jana Parengkuan who own it. Well... I'm a sweet tooth fan, so I'm excited to try.
Atmosphere :
I love the place ! There's an outdoor and indoor sitting area. The interior are classic and minimalist. They picked the soft earth tone color, which I like. It's quite nice to have a tea time in this place. Just enjoying the time and relax a bit.
Price :
Around IDR 20.000 - 50.000 / person.
Food :
The Baked Goods offer many range of cake, cookies and so on. That time I'm interested with a cake that originally from Czech Republic which is, Bublanina - IDR. 15.000,- . At the time it been served, the cake was heated before, so it's still warm. So yummm... The cake was soft and moist, the strawberry in it gives a nice sour kicks, and the crumble on top.... oh ... so heavenly.
Also their signature is Carrot Cake - IDR. 19.000,- The carrot cake has a strong cinnamon taste in it. But for me, I like it more if the cake are more moist ( because it rather dry ), and more cream cheese on top :p
Lemon Poppyseed Cake - IDR 19.000,- Looks cute isn't it? I love this cake, moist and fresh. Simply yum.
Cheesecake - IDR 19.500.
They're also served Quiche. I love quiche ! That time I choose Spinach, Smoked Beef and Mushroom Quiche - IDR 19.000. For me, I love it more if they're put more cheese in it.
Dark Choco Rum Cake - IDR 22.000,-. The cake is moist and fudgy. If you are a chocolate lover, you'll definitely love this.
Since they're not serving drinks ( only a glass of water for free ) ,you can also order drinks from the other restaurant ( but in same place ) which is "Sereh Manis" resto.

Food/Rest. Review : Tapas Movida
Couple weeks ago, me and my foodie blogger friends manage a meet up dinner. After a long chat, we choose to have a dinner in some recently open Spanish Restaurant around South Jakarta. We don't have many Spanish restaurant or food around ( yeaaa booooo....! ), so I'm soooo excited to try this eateries :p Let's start !
Atmosphere :
At the first time you step in Tapas Movida, you really can feel the Spanish vibe here. There's an indoor and outdoor sitting area with a Mediterranian style. The earth tone, low lighting and the simple detail, really makes us feel cozy and comfort sitting in this restaurant.
Price :
Around IDR 80.000 - 120.000 / person.
Food :
As I told you before, we don't have many Spanish food around town, but I can see that Spanish food is actually quite adaptable with Indonesian tongues. I didn't know much about Spanish food, but I feel there's a similarity with the local food here :)
There's many menu to choose from at Tapas Movida. They had many range of Tapas/Pinchos, Raciones, the main course and soooo on. We were excitedly ordering, and then we chose Paella Mixta ( for 4 persons ) - IDR 200.000,-, to order first because it takes time for cooking.
The Paella are served in a big pan, and yes the portions was huge ! The Paella Mixta consist of saffron rice, chicken, shrimp, squid, mussel, peas and green beans. Because they don't had spanish rice here, so they use Indonesian rice instead. The most interesting part of Paella is a layer of toasted rice at the bottom of the pan called socarrat in Spain ( or 'Kerak' in Indonesian ? :p ), but it's hard to get that because usually they need the aged pan and a real burner. I love the creamy taste of the paella, the rice has a nice textures ( not too soft like usual 'nasi' , like a risotto ), and the peas really gives a nice textures too. I wonder do they really use saffron in this dish ? Because what I know is hard to get saffron in here ( only the local one from Bali :p ) , and besides that, saffron is quite expensive isn't it ?
I really love the ideas of Tapas. The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation because people are not so focused upon eating an entire meal that is set before them. Interesting isn't it ? so ... Then the pinchos that we ordered that night is.... ( From Left to Right ) Gambones con gabardina y alioli ( Prawns in jacket with garlic mayonnaise) , Tosta de brie y cebolla caramelizada ( Toast with brie cheese and caramelized onion) and Montadito de ternera con queso azul y cebolla caramelizada ( Tenderloin, cambozola cheese and caramelized onion on a toast ) - IDR 15.000/ each. Well... I love it all ! but I kind of dislike the cambozola cheese on the tenderloin beef pinchos. It's quite overpowering the juiciness of the meat.
Then, Patata confitada con salmon y compota de manzana ( Candied potato with salmon and apple compote ) - IDR 15.000/ each. I love this so much! The presentation was so pretty, the potato are cooked perfectly and well seasoned.
My another fave, Pintxo de pollo moruno con salsa de yogur y queso ( Chicken, yogurt sauce and cheese ) - IDR 15.000. The chicken are cooked perfectly and I love the herb seasoning of it. The yogurt and cheese taste perfect. Love it !
Then, ( From Up to Below ) Bruschetta de guacamole y gambas al ajillo ( Guacamole bruschetta with garlic shrimps ) and Esparragos trigueros con huevos pasados por agua ( Green asparagus with poached eggs ) - IDR 15.000/ each. The guacamole bruschetta taste yummy, and the green asparagus taste just okay.
Then we also order Albondigas ( Spanish Meatballs ) - IDR. 40.000,- . This meatballs is the bomb. Taste so savory and sweet. The sauce was like a beef stew ( or Indonesian "Semur"? haha :p ). So yummm...!
Tortilla Espanola ( Spanish potato omelette ) - IDR. 33.000,-. This taste just okay.
What's Spanish food without Sangria ?! haha... so that night we also order Sangria - IDR 210.000/jug for drinks. Sangria is a wine punch made from red wine mixed with assorted fruits. Taste so fresh and refreshing. Love it !
Save room for desserts ? of course ! That night we choose Reinette - IDR. 35.000,- It was consist of Nougatine, vanilla ice cream, apple tatin cake, topped with vanilla sauce and chantilly. I personally love the apple tatin. Nice.
Then, Milhoja de fresas con sabayon de vainilla y salsa de chocolate ( Strawberry Mille Feuille with vanilla sabayon and chocolate sauce) - IDR. 40.000,- The presentation was soooooo mouthwatering. But too bad I didn't really taste the vanilla sabayon. It was just like a cream.
Overall I really enjoy my time at Tapas Movida. And also we get a chance to chat with the Executive Chef / Owner himself, Mr. Manuel Verdaguer. We also got another jug of Sangria for the complimentary. Yay ! Thanks Tapas Movida, I'll definitely back again. Adios ! :p

Taste New Zealand Event
Couple weeks ago I've been invited by Stratcom Indonesia and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to attend some event called, Taste New Zealand. Take place in Grand Mahakam Hotel, this event is held to celebrate New Zealand's wealth of first class ingredients and growing success in the Indonesian food and beverages market. Over the last five years, New Zealand's export to Indonesia have shown significant growth. Indonesia is currently New Zealand's 9th largest export market, worth NZD 870 million ( 6.04 trillion in rupiah ). Wow !
But somehow I agree with the number. If you go to local supermarket, you can found fresh produces from New Zealand so easily right? I think the freshness and the quality which makes these products success in the market.
This event also attended by His Excellency David Taylor ( New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia and ASEAN ), Fiona Acheson ( New Zealand Trade Comissioner to Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei ) and also Nick Dumergue ( New Zealand's own Indonesia- based vinologist ).
So that night, we've been served by many kinds of New Zealand's wine. Yay. It's always interesting to see the design of the New Zealand's wine bottle. So different and unusual. That night I got a chance to taste 3 wines which is Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Kim Crawford Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009 and Kim Crawford Pansy! Rose 2009. The Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc taste so refreshing, it's fruity with a dry finish. The Kim Crawford Pinot Noir has a rich flavours combines of fruity and smoky oak and has soft tannins. I try pairing it with some lamb, and it turns out really nice. The Kim Crawford Pansy! Rose is a rose wine that is light and fruity. Love it.
Besides the wine, we also served by some canapes, mushroom cream soups and Kings prawns mixed salad with New Zealand Avocado Oil dressings. The dressings was taste really nice.
We also served with the Iga Kambing Bakar New Zealand Saus Kecap, Grilled New Zealand lamb with barbeque sauce, and New Zealand beef tenderloin in chinese blackpepper sauce. The meats is so tender and savory. Really yummm.... ! And all the New Zealand's lamb and beef that been served that night was provided by PT Indoguna Utama, a large company who distributes the New Zealand's product in Indonesia ( and other country too ).
And for the dessert we also been served by New Zealand Zespri Kiwifruit Platter, a tartlet with New Zealand Zespri Kiwifruit, New Zealand Zespri Kiwifruit Cheese Cake, Peach Pudding, and New Zealand Ice cream drizzled with Whittaker's chocolate. Fresh and yum ! Beware sweet tooth ! :p
Besides that I also got a chance to try some interesting drinks called Aroha Elderflower Sparkle. There's a 3 taste of it, which is Blackcurrant, Feijoa and Rhubarb. The taste is interesting with a taste of flower in it. I love the Feijoa more ! And there's also a display of another New Zealand's product like Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil and Whittakers Chocolate.
There's also a doorprize for that night. The winners got a ticket for two to Auckland, New Zealand. I want it so badddd, but too bad I didn't win it :( Yea maybe next time haha...
Last words, I really - really had a great time! Got a chance to meet new peoples and also Celebrity Chef Bara Pattiradjawane and Chef Farrah Quinn :p Thanks to Stratcom Indonesia and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for inviting !
